Another Strike for Eddie Bernice Johnson:

Eddie Bernice Johnson, Democratic incumbent in the House for U.S. district 30, is in one of her most heated contests for her seat she has seen in her 18 years. Pastor Broden is her Republican rival and is making more waves in than any Republican or Independent to challenge Johnson before. If the mood of the country and weight of the economic woes hanging over any incumbent’s head wasn’t enough, Eddie Bernice Johnson is now also facing charges from watchdog groups. These watchdog groups are divided over whether an immediate investigation by an ethics committee should happen but for Johnson the biggest damage has been done. Continue reading

Battle of the Contracts

Two core principals in the mood of the Tea Parties around the US are small government and more competition. I wouldn’t go out on a limb to suggest that Mayor Tom Leppert is a Tea Party guy, but he’s defiantly on the right track with the Dallas Love Field concession contracts. You see, before the vote last Wednesday (8/18/10) the contracts made at the city owned airport were not up for bid… Continue reading

Population Control

It is hard to put into words how perverse and disgusting it is to have a country with a law like Population Control. The fact that they are so “Matter of Fact” about it makes it even worse, taking a human life in the name of the government is said to be okay. China has a large population and lots of pollution, and they use this to justify their “one baby per family” rule. Continue reading

Pay Czar Cuts – Fed gets raise

It has always amazed me at how well the government takes care of its own. I’m not talking about the people that elect them, I’m talking about the unelected bureaucrats in so many powerful positions amongst the government. It gets even worse when we are in a recession cutting back on our standard of living and grasping trying to hold on to what we have, while they are increasing in numbers and pay. Continue reading
